This is an extremely powerful finding that when used positively can help us create what we want in our lives. When used the way most of us do, unconsciously, we don’t make the best use of it. We often spend most of our time thinking about what we don’t want. This creates a brain response of what we don’t want and keeps us stuck there. We can change this by deliberately thinking about what we do want even if it hasn’t shown up in our lives yet.
Step 1: Decide what you want. In order to get more of what you want in your life, you first need to figure out what you want. There is a saying ‘you can’t make a dream come true if you don’t have a dream’. You most likely already know what you don’t want. And knowing what you don’t want helps you decide what you do want. If your child is disrespectful to you, you know you want them to be respectful. If you have been in a difficult relationship, you learned what didn’t work well for you and what you would rather have in your relationship. If you feel sad, you feel the desire to feel happy. If you have a tough time paying your bills,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you know that you would like to have enough money to pay everything easily. If you are shy and awkward in social situations,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you know you would like to feel more comfortable around people. It turns out that our brains don’t really know the difference between whether something is actually happening in our lives or whether we are only imagining it in our minds. When athletes are hooked up to brain monitoring equipment and asked to imagine they are performing their sport, their brainwaves fire the same as if they were actually doing their sport. Pianists who imagine playing the piano and rehearsing a piece in their minds play it better when they perform it.
Write a list of things you have decided you want in your life. It may be helpful to first write a list of the things you don’t want and use this as a springboard to create the list of things you do want.

Make sure to include gratitude for the things that you set your intention to receive.

Now that you know what you want from Step 1, set your intention to attract it into your life. The first step in attracting it into your life is to imagine it in your mind. Close your eyes and imagine that you already have the thing that you want. See it in every detail.

The Korea Development Bank (KDB) had announced in early June that Young An and Daewoo reached a preliminary agreement on a deal. Young An, a Korean hat-and-cap maker, claimed to be the largest in the world,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], has been reportedly attempting to buy Daewoo Motor's bus manufacturing division at a price of W140 billion.

I’m not knocking focus here; I’m just reporting what I read, but it does tend to coincide with my own experience of being more able to process things, get things done, have incredible insights and “gifts”, etc. when I’m relaxed and not stressing out about things. Lately I’ve been “lucky”, or maybe you could call it simply relaxed, or surrendered. Think about it. I just read an article today ( on a study done on what separates lucky people from unlucky people. Communication conveys a weather report of current and past emotional events. It tells how we feel beyond any words. It says where we came from, where we are and where we want to go.

President Kim Dae-jung said in an interview with Reuters Wednesday that he is not completely certain whether North Korean National Defense Commission Chairman Kim Jong Il will fulfill his promise to visit Seoul for a second summit meeting. Kim also repeatedly emphasized that there are issues that Washington and Pyongyang need to resolve,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], urging direct talks between the two.

It is arrogance and irresponsibility at its best when President Kim Dae-jung and his people at Cheong Wa Dae act like they think they can blame the opposition party for everything about the repeated failure to get one of their prime ministerial nominations confirmed in the National Assembly. It is President Kim and Cheong Wa Dae that need to be bearing responsibility for the two successive nomination fiascos. They're blaming the opposition instead,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], making it seem like there will be little possibility the current political impasse will be behind us anytime soon.
At a staff meeting last Friday,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], President Kim said,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], "When nominating [Chang Sang and Chang Dae-whan], I considered their ethical standards, abilities,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and the historical duties they would be faced with." He went on to claim,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], "It is most unfortunate for the country to have the nominations not confirmed." Put simply,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he is asserting that there were no shortcomings with the individuals he nominated,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but the opposition party came in and blocked them for political reasons,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and in doing so invited national misfortune.
The whole country knows that President Kim's claims are not based in fact. The biggest reason Chang Sang and Chang Dae-whan failed to be confirmed by the National Assembly committee for the position of prime minister was because various issues relating to them specifically caused popular sentiment turned against them. If they are right in blaming the opposition, how do you then explain how there were votes against these nominees from the ruling MDP? And why did civic groups oppose their confirmation as well?
In the end it is President Kim and Cheong Wa Dae that must bear the greatest responsibility for failing to give their nominees truly thorough prior examination before sending them for confirmation,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and they need to be criticizing themselves. Turning and blaming the opposition is, as the man responsible for state affairs,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], turning the facts of the matter on their head. Insisting on having an "acting" prime minister to fill the void is also the product of the self-righteousness and headstrong attitudes of President Kim and those around him.
President Kim needs to realize that the cause of the misfortunate developments he is being met with is actually himself,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and those who support him.

Farmers held demonstrations all over Seoul Tuesday to show their rage on the plunge in rice prices and in the WTO's pressure to open the agricultural products market,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].

The National Farmers League insisted in a statement that the government not only has neglected,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but also facilitated the fall of rice prices while some 4.5 million farmers are suffering from economic hardship as a result of this and the opening of the market under the WTO.

Outside of the fear of heights, which is an innate response and a “natural” fear that has been scientifically proven to be apparent in some very young children, all the rest of our fears are created in our mind. We have a negative event and we reinforce it through thinking about,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], fearing and analyzing the negative impact of our fears. Thus mediation can be extremely beneficial in helping us conquer or deal with our fears; as meditation is all about quieting the mind,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], getting the mind peaceful and still.
What are fears? Fears are something that we have created in our mind after,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], usually,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], having a negative experience. I say “usually” because fears cannot only come from our own experiences but also from those of others also. A lot of people have different fears. The main ingredient of fears is that they are created in our minds, reinforced in our minds and sustained in our minds.
Now let’s apply this to your mediation practice. You’re following your breath, focusing on your breath. Unlike the technique above, you are not holding your breath but breathing slowly in and out. You may want to choose a mantra to think in your mind such as “I AM” as you breathe in and the word “PEACEFUL” as you breath out. You say these words in your mind as you breathe. Now that you have gotten into your relaxing meditative state, what you are going to do is focus on that which you are afraid of. Remain in this meditative state and focus on your fear; again, we will use the fear of snakes as an example again. Focus on snakes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], just think about them. You will find your body tensing and becoming fearful again. Keep breathing slowly and deeply. You will find the anxiety building up again. As you feel the anxiety building up, take your mind off the snake and begin to focus on the breathing again. You will feel your body relax. As it does and you become relaxed again, think about your fear again. Imagine yourself being in the same room with your fear and think about it. As you feel the anxiety take over again, go back to breathing and saying your mantra. Repeat it over and over.
I’d like to share two techniques to use in order to help you deal with your fears. As an example I’m going to use the fear of snakes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as a lot of people have this fear. Let’s say you’re afraid of snakes. If you are put in a position of being placed in a moment that you have to deal with this fear; perhaps you walk into a room with snakes in it or you see a television program with snakes on it.
After a series of regular practices you will find that you will have a great relief of the stress caused by your fear. Some fears take longer than others and it depends upon the strength of the fear but don’t be easily disheartened,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it takes time. As always, take the time to regularly meditate and begin to focus on those things which worry you and make you fearful. Remember to bring yourself back to your breathing when the anxiety begins and eventually you should find relief from your fear.
The simplest thing to do is to pause for a moment,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], breathe as deeply as you can, hold it and breathe out. The key here is to recognize the fear and that the fear is real; however,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you are going to address it by breathing deeply in as long and hard as you can. Hold it for as long as you can. Breathe out slowly and deeply. As that fear is there keep breathing,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], taking your thoughts off the snake and concentrating on your breath. The key here is that you are re-focusing your mind on your breath. This technique can be used in most any instance when you’re feeling fearful. Because you are holding your breath you’re not thinking about what’s causing the fear,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but instead concentrating on your breath. While you are not in a true state of meditation you have focused on your breath,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], removing your mind from the fear.

Next, if traveling with other friends or business associates, you share stories. This goes both ways; we can comfort in the fact that most of us are very similar in some respects and we aren’t so ‘weird’. Famed singer,Bruce Springsteen, ‘The Boss’, was asked how he managed to keep his marriage so strong with all the traveling he did playing music all over the world. His golden rule that he supposedly never, ever, broke was this: Never be away from your wife for more than 3 weeks. Either fly home or have her come meet you,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but always see each other at least once per three weeks. Interesting.
We’ve all been there. Some more than others. Traveling. Without your spouse/significant other/ children and loved ones,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
The question is: is there some positives and, does it actually strengthen your relationship at home?
For one, it keeps things fresh. It reminds me of letting the tied up dog off his/her leash for awhile. Usually there is some freedom exercised the first 24-36 hours to go a little hog wild, whatever your hobbies and/or vices are. Eventually, it settles a bit. Also, may be a bit liberating for the one who stays at home as well?
I’ll share some comments I thought of but mainly wanted to see what your comments are on this one,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Finally,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], going away is also fun, educational, cultural and teaches you something about new experiences. So,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I say, go for it, occasionally. But not for too long. Everything, in moderation. A secondary thing of travel is you get to see what’s going on in other parts of the planet,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], outside your home, your city, your atmosphere. It’s kind of cool, yet,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], at the same time, it also gives you an appreciation for what you have at home.

Pregnancy Depression
Although pregnancy is normally a period of great joy, about ten percent (10%) of pregnant women experience prolong periods of great sadness.
Although hormones are a factor in pregnancy depression it is not the lone cause.
Dysthmyia is a condition that sufferers don't even know they have depression,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it is just a daily part of their lives and always has been. People suffering from Dysthmyia are people that are simply sad,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], blue, always depressed but for them it is completely normal and are not aware of it. They go through life feeling unimportant, frightened, dissatisfied and simply don't enjoy life.
Non-melancholic Depression
Winter Depression (Seasonal Affective Disorder)
Seasonal Affective Disorder has symptoms that are seen with any major depressive episode,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. It is the recurrence of the symptoms during certain seasons that is the hallmark of this type of depression.
Dysthymia
Depression is one of the most common mental illnesses with 10-15% of people suffering from depression at some stage in their lifetime. The general symptoms of depression include irritability, difficulty to concentrate,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], feelings of guilt or helplessness, reduced appetite, anxiety,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], loss of interest in activities and personal appearance,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], difficulty sleeping, difficulty getting up in the morning, constant tiredness, lack of energy, changes in weight and headaches.
Depression is a form of what is known as a mood or affective, disorder,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], because it is primarily concerned with a change in mood.
Depression is a very complex illness. No-one really knows for certain what causes depression,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and everyone's experience of depression is different.
This is very common in countries which have cold,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], cloudy winters and little daylight or sunshine. I used to live in England and did suffer a from this. Now I live in Turkey and the difference is incredible. Sometimes the weather is fantastic - sunny and warm even in winter! It does affect your mood but everybody is different,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], if you are very sensitive to weather change you may suffer from this.
In this case the depression is not melancholic,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or, put simply, not primarily biological. Instead, it has to do with psychological causes and is very often linked to stressful events in a person’s life, alone, or in conjunction with the individual’s personality style. Non-melancholic depression is the most common of the three types of depression. Non-melancholic depression has a high rate of spontaneous remission because it is often linked to stressful events in a person’s life. Non-melancholic depression responds well to different sorts of treatments (such as psychotherapies,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], antidepressants and counselling), but the treatment selected should respect the cause (eg stress, personality style).
Bipolar depression (or manic depression) includes both high and low mood swings, and a variety of other significant symptoms not present in other types of depression.
